Do you want to befriend a senior and/or an adult with a disability? Friendly Visiting provides companionship and creates a face-to-face relationship between a volunteer and an isolated person in the client's home. Volunteers will provide socialization and participate in activities not limited to: chatting, reading and writing letters, walking around the neighbourhood, and playing cards and games.

Do you want to befriend a senior and/or an adult with a disability? Telephone Reassurance Volunteers contact clients by telephone and create a one-to-one relationship between themselves and an isolated individual. Volunteers are asked to commit to several days per week in this type of service provision. --- Reliable and trustworthy; punctual; warm and caring; cheerful, patient and friendly; interested in working with older adults. --- Able to respect the privacy and feelings of others. --- Able to lay aside one's own problems and focus on the client. --- Be a good listener.

With over 125 programs, Mount Sinai is sure to have a position that suits your interests and schedule. There are volunteer placements in the Nursing Units, Pet Therapy, Clinics, Information Kiosk, Language Interpretation, etc. To volunteer, you must be at least 16 years old. All volunteers are required to complete a medical declaration stating that they are free of communicable disease. School-Year Program - 4 hours per week Summer Program - 2 days per week
