(Must be 14 years of age or older)
Join our team of dedicated volunteers who help keep our shelves tidy and materials in order. This position requires an individual with organizational skills who can make a commitment of two hours per week.
Circle of Readers
(Must be 14 years of age or older; Police Records Check required)
Would you like to share your love of reading with children? If so, the Circle of Readers may be the opportunity you have been looking for. This is a one hour program for children ages 6-9. Volunteers work one on one with a child for part of the hour, then everyone joins together to share activities and a book or two. Offered weekly at two different times – after school or evening; two sessions offered per school year.
Teen Advisory Board
(Must be 14-19 years of age and attending a local secondary school)
TAB members meet monthly to help plan and provide library-related services to teens. Most Barrie high schools are represented and TAB members help spread the word on Library events to teens across Barrie. This is a great way to earn Community Involvement hours while having fun with your peers.
